Barnegat Police Support Special Olympics NJ At MetLife Stadium
Eleven Barnegat police officers won undefeated in a flag football game at MetLife Stadium to raise money for Special Olympics New Jersey.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — Eleven Barnegat police officers won undefeated in a flag football game on Friday at MetLife Stadium to raise money for Special Olympics New Jersey.
Teams of law enforcement and firefighters from across the region played on the professional football field over the weekend.
Barnegat’s team won undefeated winning six games in the six-on-six flag football matchups.

The winning team includes Ptl. Ken Calicchio, Ptl. Dan Dugan, Sgt. Nicholas Venuto, Ptl. Kevin Mason, Ptl. Thomas Henry, Ptl. Stephen Russoniello, Ptl. Pat Moran, Ptl. Chris Negron, Ptl. Anthony Carlo, Ptl. Nicole Lentini and Ptl. Mark Simko.
"These officers keep themselves in peak condition, excel in a team environment and pride themselves on serving the community and giving back," said Chief Keith Germain. "It is no surprise that they would not only take their time to fundraise and participate in an event like this, but that they would excel and bring home the trophy."

This year's Snow Bowl raised $309,000 for Special Olympics New Jersey as of Tuesday.
Special Olympics New Jersey is a nonprofit organization that provides sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities free of charge.
