Barnegat Schools Switch To Full Remote Learning For 2 Weeks
The Barnegat Township School District will transition to full remote learning instruction beginning Monday.
BARNEGAT, NJ — The Barnegat Township School District will transition to full remote learning beginning Monday. The district will return to in-person learning on Jan. 25.
In a letter to parents on Friday, Superintendent Brian Latwis said the pivot is due to a rise in coronavirus cases both locally and regionally, which could cause staffing shortages in the district.
“We are thankful that we have not experienced a COVID-19 spike within our schools. At the same time, we recognize that our region is experiencing a surge. Today our municipality saw 30 new positive cases, which represents the highest single-day tally since the pandemic started,” Latwis wrote.
