Barnegat's Big Barlow's BBQ Moving To Bigger Location

BARNEGAT, NJ — Big Barlow's BBQ has outgrown its Barnegat location, and it's not just because the menu occasionally features a 3-pound burger or giant stuffed fried pickle.

The increasingly popular restaurant will move across Route 9 in the plaza that featured Shore Fire Grille. The new location will offer 40 seats, a bigger kitchen, more parking and room for events and live music.

Big Barlow's BBQ & Catering will move in October, the restaurant announced on its Facebook page.

The restaurant has made major strides in the past two years. Chris Barlow founded the eatery in 2018 as a food truck at Manafirkin Brewing Company. Then Big Barlow's opened a brick-and-mortar locations last year in Barnegat. Read more: Big Barlow's BBQ Brings Big Flavor To Barnegat

Shore Fire Grille opened in 2012 with a year-round location in Manahawkin. Founder Timothy Kohlheim died in a crash last August, and the business closed its Manahawkin location four months later. Shore Fire Grille still operates its catering service and seasonal location in Surf City.
