Dogs Rescued From Hoarding To Be Up For Adoption In Manahawkin
Twenty-four dogs were rescued, and they'll soon be available at the Ocean County Animal Facilities.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Some of the 24 dogs rescued from a hoarding situation will soon be up for adoption at Manahawkin's Ocean County Animal Facility.
They were recently removed from the home of an Ocean County resident, according to the Ocean County Health Department. Officials didn't immediately provide more details on the hoarding situation.
The dogs are a mix of sizes, colors and ages. Some are puppies, while most are small mixed breeds. There's also a bulldog in the batch. Some will go to Manahawkin, while the others will go to the Ocean County Animal Facility in Jackson.

Most of the dogs are in generally good health. But the shelter veterinarian will examine each. All will get spayed and neutered, vaccinated, evaluated and microchipped before they become available for adoption.
"The Ocean County Health Department always promotes responsible pet ownership and we encourage any pet owner that feels they are being overwhelmed with the care or number of pets in their possession to reach out to their local animal control officer, or area animal rescues and groups for assistance," said OCHD Public Health Coordinator Daniel E. Regenye.
