Forest Fire, Evacuations In Ocean County
A forest fire reportedly had burned nearly 1,000 acres in Ocean County by Sunday night.

LITTLE EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – A forest fire reportedly had burned nearly 1,000 acres in Ocean County by Monday morning, officials said.
Voluntary evacuations were underway in the Little Egg Harbor Township area late Sunday, police said. Route 9 was closed in the area.

Firefighters were battling the active wildfire at Bass River State Forest, telling ABC6 that the blaze consumed roughly 900 acres of land that splits between Ocean and Burlington counties.
Approximately 70 firefighters from across the state worked to get the blaze under control, officials told ABC6, adding that none of the wildfire was contained as of Monday morning.

Little Egg Harbor police were telling residents to avoid Otis Bog and Stage Road.
