Makers Festival Canceled In Manahawkin Amid Pandemic

Event organizers announced that the sixth annual Makers Festival will not return to Manahawkin this year due to coronavirus concerns.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Event organizers announced that the sixth annual Makers Festival will not return to Manahawkin this year due to coronavirus concerns.

The Makers Festival was postponed last year from July to Sept. 18, 2021.

Festival hosts Dani Corso and Erin Buterick announced the recent cancellation on the Makers Festival website.

“The past year has been full of hard choices. This one might be one of the hardest. After much deliberation, we have decided to bid a fond farewell to The Makers Festival as we know it,” they wrote.

The festival was a showcase of homegrown art, artisanal food, craft beer and music in the Long Beach Island region.

“We can not imagine this celebration taking place at a social distance and can not risk public health. We hope you understand,” they said.

Corso and Buterick said they will continue to collaborate with local and regional creatives at their shop on the Tuckerton Seaport grounds.
