Manahawkin MVC Extends Closure Due To Another Coronavirus Case

The MVC in Manahawkin will stay closed for an extra five days because another employee tested positive for coronavirus.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — The Motor Vehicle Commission facility in Manahawkin will remain closed for an extra five days after another employee tested positive for coronavirus, the MVC announced Tuesday. The vehicle center will reopen Jan. 12.

The MVC in Manahawkin closed Monday after an employee tested positive for coronavirus. The employee last worked there Wednesday, according to an MVC spokesperson.

After another employee tested positive for coronavirus Tuesday, the MVC extended the Manahawkin facility's closure from Jan. 7 to Jan. 12 for staff quarantines.

The MVC has closed several facilities in recent weeks after employees tested positive for COVID-19. Ten MVC centers are currently closed due to the coronavirus and are scheduled to reopen within the next two weeks.
