Manahawkin Native Martin Truex Jr. Wins 2nd Straight Playoff Race

The Southern Regional product placed first in the Federated Auto Parts 400.

RICHMOND, VA — Martin Truex Jr. won his second straight NASCAR Cup Series playoff race Saturday. The Manahawkin native passed Kyle Busch with 25 laps to go at the Federated Auto Parts 400.

Truex was the championship leader coming into the race. He led with 87 laps remaining when Ricky Stenhouse Jr. spun him out, allowing Busch to take the lead.

Truex dropped only to third under caution and then reeled his Joe Gibbs racing teammate in to pull away.

The Southern Regional product sits first in the standings with 2141 points. Kevin Harvick follows with 2121, while Busch sits in third with 2117.
