Motorcycle Crash Under Investigation In Stafford

Police are seeking information about a solo motorcycle crash on Route 72 that sent a Tuckerton man​ to a hospital on Saturday.

STAFFORD, NJ — Stafford Township police are seeking information about a solo motorcycle crash that sent a Tuckerton man to a hospital on Saturday.

The crash happened at 6:48 p.m. on Route 72 east near the Route 9 on-ramp, according to police.

Robert Perotti, 53, was on a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle when he struck the curb at the merge of the ramp. Perotti was thrown off the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries, police said.

A retired combat medic was traveling on Route 72 at the time of the crash, and provided life saving measures until police and paramedics arrived on scene, police said.

Perotti was flown to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for his injuries. His condition is unknown at this time. He was not wearing an approved helmet at the time of the collision, police said.
