Passenger Killed After Car Hits Tree In Manahawkin
A 24-year-old Little Egg Harbor man was pronounced dead at the scene.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — A front-seat passenger died Wednesday after a vehicle hit a tree. Robert Parlin, 24, of Little Egg Harbor, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Southern Ocean Medical Center. The crash is under investigation.
The crash took place at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on Stafford Avenue near Hilliard Boulevard. The driver of a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt drove quickly eastbound, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

The driver tried negotiating a right turn and lost control before the back of the vehicle struck a tree. No charges have been filed at this time.
The OCPO's Vehicular Homicide Unit, Stafford police and the Ocean County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit are investigating the crash.
