Police Investigating Woman's Drowning Death On LBI
Police revealed on Monday that they're investigating a drowning at Long Beach Island this past weekend.

SURF CITY – Police say they're investigating a drowning at Long Beach Island this past weekend.
The woman was pulled from the Atlantic Ocean in Surf City on Sunday, police said.
The incident happened at approximately 10:15 p.m. when police were called to the 15th Street Beach after receiving 911 calls, police said.

The calls reported that a person entered the water but didn't return to the shore, police said.
The victim was unconscious and unresponsive after being pulled from the water, and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

NJ Advance Media reported that the woman was reported missing by her family Sunday night
While checking the beach, Officer Sean Raimondi saw footprints in the sand heading east to ocean’s edge and rescue squads were called, according to NJ Advance Media.
An investigation is underway by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
