Possible N.J. Shark Attack On Wounded Dolphin Caught On Video
Witnesses say they saw a wounded dolphin get attacked by possibly several sharks off the New Jersey coast this week, and caught it on video.
The water came splashing up, with seagulls hitting the waves, and from the scrum emerged what appeared to be a wounded dolphin struggling through the current.
It was something that many beachgoers at Long Beach Island didn't expect to see on the local shores of the Atlantic Ocean — ever.
Witnesses say they saw a wounded dolphin this week getting attacked by possibly several sharks off the New Jersey coast, and they captured the event on video (see below).

One beach visitor, Kristen Kelly, who was visiting Long Beach Island, caught the Tuesday event on video and said she "saw something that would be considered a fish tale."
"This poor dolphin was hit by a boat propeller and three MASSIVE sharks ate it where we were swimming all day today," she said. "Needless to say, I am happy to be going home tomorrow."

Marie Levine, executive director of the Shark Research Institute in Princeton, said people shouldn't be too surprised to see such incidents because the shark population is getting closer to the expanding beach population.
