Pro Wrestling With Ron Simmons Comes To Barnegat

Pro wrestling is heading to Barnegat, where WWE Hall of Famer Ron Simmons will make his Jersey Shore debut. The Superstars Wrestling Federation comes to the Barnegat American Legion (499 North Main St.) at 7 p.m. Feb. 23.

Simmons — also a former Cleveland Brown — became the WCW World Heavyweight Champion in 1992 after defeating Big Van Vader. WWE recognizes Simmons as the first black world champion in pro wrestling history.

The Barnegat showcase will also feature the following:

• A match between Vinny Cenzo and Pete Corvus
• A tag-team tables match between GTS Grim and Dupon versus The Unbreakable Rob Fury and Kurt Bale
• The heavy hitters with Felicia defending the SWF Tag Team championships against undefeated Truex and Controvery, representing the Furious 5
• Steve The Body Lugo and Astro Morales Step in the main event against SWF Cruiserweight champion Mani and Sebastian Cage
