Services Set For Former Stafford Teacher Of The Year

Jennifer L. Eismann taught for 30 years until her 2016 retirement.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Jennifer L. Eismann died Saturday night. Eismann, 65, taught for nearly 30 years. She earned the Stafford Township School District's Teacher of the Year award in 2002.

Eismann was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia, to Emmette Long and Jean Ward Long, according to her obituary. She married Nathaniel Eismann, of Manahawkin, in 1982, and they began their life together in New Jersey.

She was an active member of her home congregation at Fairview Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and the United Methodist Church in Manahawkin. At the United Methodist Church, Eismann taught Sunday school and vacation bible school, served on the preschool board and was a member of the young-adults group and the United Methodist Women.

Eismann was a loving mother to three daughters: Emily, Katherine and Audrey. She is predeceased by her father Emmette Long and her daughter Emily Elizabeth Eismann.

She is survived by her mother Jean Ward Long, husband Nathaniel Eismann, daughters Katherine and Audrey Eismann, sisters Susan Jones and Alice McGinnis, several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Emily Eismann Scholarship Fund, in care of Manahawkin Methodist Church, 116 Stafford Ave., Manahawkin, NJ 08050.

Calling hours will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home (10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin). A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Manahawkin Methodist Church (116 Stafford Ave.). Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery on Route 9.
