During a council meeting on Tuesday, Mayor Gregory Myhre said the work will continue throughout the year. The first phase of the project removed the oldest and most deteriorated pipes in Beach Haven West last year.

“This is filed under preventative maintenance, but it must be done because you see what happens when people don't take care of their sewer pipes. They have huge problems,” said Myhre. “We’ll try to get as much of that work done as possible before Memorial Day weekend.”

P&A Construction has been awarded the project, which was part of the township's capital program.
