Southern Regional Schools Adopt Full Remote Learning Indefinitely

The duration of the remote instruction period is undetermined, according to the Monday announcement on the school district's website.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — The Southern Regional School District will transition to full remote learning instruction beginning Wednesday. The duration of the remote instruction period is undetermined, according to the Monday announcement on the school district's website.

In the announcement, the school district said the learning transition is due to the recent rise in coronavirus cases nationally, locally and on campus, which has affected staffing capacity and reduced student attendance both virtually and in-person.

The Ocean County Vocational Schools will still offer in-person instruction. Southern Regional will provide transportation for vocational students.
