Southern Regional Seeks Donations To Replace Memorial Day Flags
Southern Regional is seeking monetary donations to replace about 5,000 flags that were damaged by rain and wind over Memorial Day weekend.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Each year thousands of American flags are planted in front of Southern Regional High School to honor every service person who died in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Southern Regional staff volunteer for three different shifts over the weekend to check the Field of Flags and reorganize any flags that fall over.
After a storm brought severe rain and wind over Memorial Day weekend, volunteers found most of the 7,038 flags in the display were ruined.
