Stafford Police Arrest 16 Year-Old for Burglary and Theft
Off-duty cop from Paterson helps Stafford police nab Perth Amboy teenager with stolen boat motor.

Last Friday afternoon, Stafford police arrested a 16 year-old from Perth Amboy for burglary and theft. An off-duty Paterson officer at his home in the Colony Lakes section of Manahawkin, noted the suspect enter a neighbor’s home through a back sliding glass door, according to police public information officer, Ptl. Christopher M. Fritz.
Knowing the neighbor wasn’t home, the off-duty officer responded and caught the juvenile walking from the home carrying a Yamaha 2.5 HP boat motor. He contacted Stafford Police, who took the alleged suspect into custody without incident. Authorities reached the home owner and returned the motor. The teenager was processed and released to his family with a pending court appearance in Ocean County Juvenile Court.
