Stafford May Have Had Highest Rainfall In US On Saturday
Stafford Township said the rainfall was reportedly the highest in the nation that day.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Stafford Township may have gotten the highest rainfall in the nation Saturday. The Township recorded 5.7 inches of rainfall from the storm.
Stafford Township said in a Facebook post Tuesday that their rainfall was reportedly the highest in the United States that day.
National Weather Service Mount Holly could not immediately confirm this. But they confirmed the 5.7 inch rainfall total and said it was the highest recorded Saturday in their area. NWS Mount Holly covers most of New Jersey and much of Pennsylvania.

It was a busy day for officials. Stafford EMS Squad 38 responded to about 16 calls ranging from water rescues to possible structure fires to answering medicals. Stafford EMS thanked the following agencies for assistance:
- Barnegat First Aid Squad (Squad 11)
- Great Bay Regional Volunteer EMS (Squad 85)
- Stafford Township Volunteer Fire Company (Station 47)
- Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company (Station 11)
- Ocean County Communications
- Ocean County EMS Coordinator
- Stafford Township Police Department
Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company Station 11 responded to at least 14 emergencies that day by the evening. Just from 1-5 p.m., the agency responded to two structure fires, a vehicle fire, an overturned vehicle, two lightning strikes, two fire alarms, electrical hazards, road flooding and multiple people trapped in vehicles in flood water.
