Stafford District Schools To Go Virtual For 2 Weeks In November
The district doesn't expect a staff shortage that would make this necessary after the Thanksgiving and winter breaks.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — The Stafford Township School District will go virtual for two weeks following November break. Officials anticipate staff shortages after the recess because of New Jersey's coronavirus travel advisory.
The district will pivot to remote learning from Nov. 9-20. In-person education and the Extended Day Program won't resume until Nov. 23. Stafford schools have allowed students to attend school five days per week or learn through hybrid or remote models.
The school will go on break Nov. 2-6. The Stafford district sent a survey to parents and staff about their travel plans for that week.

"The results have indicated that a large number of our community members will be traveling to many states that are currently on the New Jersey Travel Advisory list," Superintendent George J. Chidiac wrote Thursday to parents.
State officials have placed 35 states and territories under its travel advisory as of Thursday morning. Those who travel or return to New Jersey from those locations are advised to self-quarantine for 14 days.

"The one concern is spring break," Chidiac said via email. "However, I will continue to survey our staff and parents to gauge travel and quarantine."
During the all-remote period, students will continue with their current teachers and cohort schedules.
"Each district is different and I proud to say we are one the few districts who are offering full day district 5 days per week and because of that our staff is spread thin," Chidiac wrote to Patch. "I hope our community knows that we are doing the best that we can given the circumstances."
