SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING and MATHEMATICS (STEM) FAIR OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Ocean County, NJ
On Saturday, September 22 the Joshua Huddy District of the Jersey Shore Council, Boy Scouts of America, will be holding a STEM community event from 9 AM to 2 PM, at Toms River High School-North and the RWJ Barnabas Health Arena, connected to the school. The event will feature organizations who are involved in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Twenty plus organization will be offering information, giveaways and raffles on their programs and how they relate to STEM. The event is open to the public.
The organizations are from the Ocean County community and the surrounding counties. The organizations will also be helping with a STEM merit badge fair for the Boy Scouts. Altogether there will be 34 STEM related merit badges offered at the fair, including 5 merit badges needed to become an Eagle Scout.
Besides the merit badges, training will be offered in Leadership, Outdoor Conservation, Project Management, and in the Boy Scout Venturing and Exploring programs. The event is so large the school donated the use of 40 classroom and the use of the arena.
So come out and check out these organizations, who are donating their time and resources, to educate the community on the opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and how they relate to a better world in the future.
