Surf City Trunk Or Treat Is On With Safety Measures

Preregistration will be required for this year's event.

SURF CITY, NJ — Surf City's Trunk or Treat event is on, but it will be a bit different this year. The event will solely focus on "trunk or treating" and will occur entirely outside at the Surf City Volunteer Fire Company.

The Surf City Police Department's event will take place from 4-7 p.m. Oct. 24. Preregistration and a ticket will be required, and all attendees older than 2 must wear a mask.

Governor Phil Murphy issued Halloween rules and guidance Monday. Outdoor trunk-or-treat events can occur, but the number of cars should be limited for social distancing, he said. Lines should be single-file for social distancing.
