Waretown To Hold Shredding Event Saturday

WARETOWN, NJ — Ocean County residents will have the chance to get their documents shredded at no cost in Waretown on Saturday.

Residents can bring documents to the Waretown Municipal Complex Lot at 50 Railroad Ave from 9 a.m. to noon.

The county-wide shredding program includes 16 locations staggered throughout the year. The next events this month will be held in Lakewood on June 11 and Stafford on June 19. Read More: Ocean County Announces Residential Document Shredding Schedule

Residents are limited to five file boxes or 100 pounds of confidential documents per car. Commercial paperwork will not be accepted.

The free program is for all paper documents and forms. Paper clips and staples need not be removed.

Unacceptable items include magazines, books, junk mail, hanging file folders, greeting cards, photos, x-rays, CDs, floppy disks, microfilm, shredded paper and garbage.

The shred units feature an automatic feeding and dumping system that eliminates human contact with private documents.

Each event will run for its complete allotted amount of time or until the recycling truck is full. Each truck has the capacity to hold 10,000 pounds of paper.
