MANAHAWKIN — The Stafford Township Municipal Complex looks a little different. The storm-damaged Beech Tree is now a work of art.

The tree was functionally dead, Mayor Gregory E. Myhre said at Tuesday's Township meeting. The top half of the tree was removed for safety reasons.

Kevin Treat, a professional wood carver, helped the Township enact a vision for the tree. The Township wanted to incorporate local wildlife and natural elements of the area.
