21 Cats, Many Sick, Dumped At Roadside Of Funny Farm Rescue
No food, no water and they all needed vet care. The Jersey Shore rescue owner vowed to press charges against the person who dumped them.
MAYS LANDING, NJ — No food, no water and all needed vet care. The Funny Farm Rescue & Sanctuary found themselves in a desperate situation Wednesday after someone dumped 21 cats at their roadside.
In an emotional video, Funny Farm founder Laurie Zaleski vowed to alert police and press charges.
"We do have cameras, we will run every license plate and we will be coming after you, because this is not OK," she said.

A friend of Zaleski walked her dog when she found several crates on the roadside. Zaleski rushed over to discover the dire situation.
The 15-acre farm is a private charity that doesn't receive any federal or state funding. The coronavirus pandemic has given them extra challenges for staying afloat, and the dumping of so many cats doesn't help.

"I am annoyed, and I am pissed off," Zaleski said in the video. "I’m sorry if kids are watching, but this is not OK."

Zaleski showed Patch a list of their temperatures and symptoms. Some had eye discharge, some wheezed and a few had temperatures of 103 or higher — a cat has a fever at more than 102.5 degrees, according to Fetch by WebMD.
Many are still stick, but a vet has checked them all and they're doing better, Zaleski said.
In the meantime, Funny Farm Rescue could use donations to help take care of them. Click here to donate, or make checks payable to Funny Farm Rescue and mail to:
