Absegami Downs Oakcrest in Thanksgiving Rivalry Game

The Braves defeated the Falcons on the final day of Cape-Atlantic League football.

Andrew Marcucci threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Chris Dolan to cap the scoring in the Absegami High School football team’s 28-7 win over Oakcrest on Thanksgiving Day, according to nj.com.

Vinnie Nelson had a 40-yard touchdown run in the first quarter for the Braves. Ifreke Andy scored on an 8-yard touchdown run, and Ibn Wilkerson punched one in from 1-yard out.

Absegami went 3-7 in the final season of Cape-Atlantic League football. The league, which was founded in 1949, will join the West Jersey Football League next season. Absegami and Oakcrest will both compete in the Independence Division, along with Black Horse Pike Regional School District rival Cedar Creek, Mainland, Ocean City and St. Joseph.
