Absegami High School Baseball Team Qualifies for Playoffs
The Braves are the No. 16 seed in South Jersey Group 3.
Galloway Township, NJ -- The road to the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 baseball championship goes through Ocean City.
The Red Raiders (12-4) are the No. 1 seed in the playoffs, according to the bracket posted on nj.com on Thursday.
Ocean City host will host No. 16 Absegami (6-11) in the first round on Monday, May 23. The winner plays the winner of the game between No. 8 Hammonton and No. 9 Central Regional on May 25.

The semifinals are set for May 31. The final is scheduled for June 3.
Ocean City opened the season with a 10-0 win over Absegami, and was scheduled to visit the Braves on Thursday. Pitcher Sean Mooney had a combined no-hitter in the first meeting, and also threw a no-hitter in an 11-0 win over Vineland on April 14.

Ocean City has won five consecutive games. Absegami is 2-5 in its last seven games.
