Atlantic City Mega-Site Administers 100,000th Vaccine

AtlantiCare celebrated a milestone as they administered their 100,000th COVID-19 vaccine at the Atlantic City mega-site on Thursday.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — AtlantiCare celebrated a milestone as they administered their 100,000th COVID-19 vaccine at the Atlantic City mega-site on Thursday.

James Plummer, 90, of Atlantic County received the milestone dose. National Guard members escorted Plummer to his vaccination station.

He told AtlantiCare staff that his vaccination was an important step in soon being able to attend services at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where he had been a deacon for 60 years.

His daughter, Anita Robinson, brought him to his appointment and received a vaccination alongside him.

AtlantiCare’s mega-site team leader and nurse Kaleena Ellis administered the 100,000th dose.

The mega-site currently provides more than 3,000 vaccines daily. AtlantiCare expects the mega-site will soon approach a daily vaccination total of 6,000 people.
