Chamber Music Series Kicks off Tonight at the Ocean City Free Public Library

Tonight launches a month of music with the Ocean City POPS at the Ocean City Free Public Library.

Tonight launches a month of music with the Ocean City POPS at the Ocean City Free Public Library. All events take place in Lecture Hall N110.

The free 2015 Chamber Music Series kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with “Peter and the Wolf.” The Ocean City POPS Woodwind Quintet presents the story of Peter and the Wolf with special guest Charlie Buckley narrating. Other pieces include music from “The Simpsons,” “Harry Potter” and “This Old Man.”

A Woodwind World Tour with the Ocean City POPS Quintet takes center stage Friday at 7 p.m. The ensemble will play music from Italy, Spain, Germany, France and America, including selections from Ibert, Salieri, Albinez, Arne Running and Kander & Ebb.

Sept . 2 highlights Summertime Trios. 7:00pm Enjoy this eclectic program performed by Ocean City POPS flutist, Pamela Whitman, bassoonist Andrea Herr and pianist Jeff Uhlig. The 7 p.m. show highlights the music of Lalliet, Gershwin, Piazzolla and others.

“With Strings Attached” on Sept. 18 stars the Ocean City POPS Woodwinds and Strings together playing music by Elgar, Lefebvre and PDQ Bach. The performance begins at 7 p.m.
