PHILADELPHIA — Days after a shooting halted the Pleasantville-Camden high school football game, the Eagles have swooped in to save the game. The NFL franchise offered for the teams to complete their playoff match at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Friday night shooting at the game injured three people, leaving a 10-year-old in critical condition, authorities said. The rest of the game was suspended, with 17 minutes remaining. The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association announced Monday that the Eagles offered to host the rest of the contest.

“It’s extremely unfortunate that a senselessly violent act has impacted this game, and there will certainly be a wide range of emotions along both sidelines," NJSIAA Executive Director Larry White said in a statement. "However, thanks to the Eagles’ generosity and community spirit, Pleasantville and Camden student-athletes and their families will have an opportunity to write their own ending to this game. They’ll compete on a world-class stage, sending a clear message that violence will not win.”
