Illegal Parking Near Longport Dog Beach Prompts Crackdown
Parking on Ocean Drive near the Longport Dog Beach is prohibited and could result in a $200 fine, Egg Harbor police announced.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — If the Longport Dog Beach parking lot fills up this weekend, parking along Ocean Drive will not be an option, Egg Harbor police announced.
Though parking on Ocean Drive was previously prohibited by a township ordinance and county resolution, police will be cracking down on cars that are parked on the road illegally.
Vehicles parked in the “no parking” areas could be towed and subject to a fine of $200.

“The Egg Harbor Township Police Department appreciates the time spent by a dog at the beach with their human, but we must recognize that the safety of everyone is jeopardized when their humans park improperly and in violation of the law,” police said. “Your dog can't afford for you to get injured or worse because you or someone else parked unsafely and illegally.”
Police are urging visitors to plan accordingly to secure legal parking at the dog beach.
