Galloway Hosts First Absegami-Oakcrest Thanksgiving Eve Game

Absegami and Oakcrest believe their annual Thanksgiving game will draw more fans, by playing it on Wednesday night instead of Thursday.

GALLOWAY, NJ -- Absegami and Oakcrest are moving their annual Thanksgiving game to Wednesday night this year, said Absegami Athletic Director Steve Fortis. The two schools decided to change game day after Mainland and Egg Harbor Township had a successful Thanksgiving Eve night game last season, according to ShoreNewsToday.

"The alumni come back that night, it gives them something to do, and then the next day you can stay home with your friends and family," Fortis said.

Absegami will host this year's battle for the Joe Mohr Trophy, the 41st in the series, at 6 p.m.
