A GoFundMe campaign is rooting for former First Lady Hillary Clinton to push the button that will demolish the vacant hotel and casino.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — A GoFundMe campaign is rooting for former First Lady Hillary Clinton to push the button that will demolish the vacant Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.

During a news conference Thursday, Mayor Marty Small Sr. announced Atlantic City is hosting an auction for the chance to press a button that blows up the empty building.

Small said auction proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City. The auction has collected $53,500 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The GoFundMe to allow Clinton to press the button was organized by a person in Santa Cruz, California. Clinton lost the 2016 Presidential Election to Donald Trump.

The GoFundMe aims to raise $750,000. As of Tuesday afternoon, the campaign has not received any donations.

Small said the planned implosion initially scheduled for Jan. 29, 2021, will be moved to February due to safety concerns.
