VENTNOR, NJ — A vice principal in the Hamilton Township School District died Saturday from COVID-19.
Cara Surace Bluth, 45, died “after a short battle” with the coronavirus, according to her obituary.
Bluth, of Ventnor, was a graduate of George Washington University and was a vice principal at George Hess Educational Complex before she died this weekend, her obituary said. She previously taught first grade at Chelsea Heights Elementary School in Atlantic City.

“Cara made every room brighter just by entering it,” her obituary read. “From her soul, she exuded joy, laughter, and love. She loved celebrating with her family and friends, caring for all animals, gardening, and exploring our connections to each other through reiki, meditation, and more.”
She is survived by her husband, Scott.

A celebration of her life will be held on June 20 and there are plans to set up a scholarship in her name.
Bluth's family encourages donations in her honor to the Humane Society of Atlantic County, the National Zoo in Washington D.C., where she served as a volunteer, or any animal rescue organization.
