Longtime Galloway Business Owner Recognized for Ice Cream Excellence

Galloway Mayor Don Purdy and Atlantic County Freeholder Rich Dase recognized the popular eatery with special proclamations on Saturday.

Galloway Township, NJ -- Lindy Hops Ice Cream Parlor has always been there, serving cold treats to young and old alike for the last 25 years.

On Saturday, Galloway Mayor Don Purdy and Atlantic County Freeholder Richard Dase visited the ice cream shop to show the township’s appreciation.

Purdy and Dase surprised store owner Linda L’Erario with special proclamations from both the county and township, recognizing her commitment to entrepreneurship and hard work in the community.

“I can remember riding my bike to Lindy Hops when I was younger,” Dase said. “Lindy Hops has been a part of my life in Atlantic County for a long time.”

“After every sporting event in the area, the kids always want to come to Lindy
Hops,” Purdy said. “Linda and this business are staples in this community.”

L’Erario founded Lindy Hops in 1991. Along with ice cream maker Ed Jones,she rarely misses a day at work at the shop that is open nine months of the year.

“I don’t think she realizes how much Lindy Hops means to the community,” Galloway resident Lisa Mercer said. “It’s more than just an ice cream shop, it’s part of what makes this town special.”
