Miami-Based Airline Seeking Atlantic County Flight Attendants

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — Global Crossings Airlines is hiring flight attendants from the Atlantic County area to staff international and charter flights to Atlantic City International Airport in Egg Harbor Township.

Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson praised the Miami-based airline for its decision to locate one of its operation bases in Atlantic County and for recruiting local talent.

“Global Crossings recognizes our efforts to build an aviation industry and the success we’ve already realized in a relatively short time working with the airport, the Federal Aviation Administration, Embry- Riddle Aeronautical University, NASA, the military, and other significant partners,” Levinson said in a statement.

Atlantic City International Airport will serve as the northern charter base of operations for Global Crossings with charters from Toronto, Montreal and a number of U.S. cities. Flights will accommodate visitors to conventions, casinos, concerts, sporting events and more.

Lauren H. Moore, Jr., president of the Atlantic County Economic Alliance that initiated the first discussions with Global Crossings, emphasized the importance of building a trained local workforce to meet the needs of businesses interested in locating in our region.

“Any business that is doing its due diligence will ask about the available workforce. It can be a game changer,” he said. “We are working with the Atlantic County Workforce Development Board, our educational institutions and business communities to make sure we have the needed curriculum and job training to provide a skilled workforce.”

According to Moore, customer service experience is essential for flight attendant applicants.

“In an area where hospitality and tourism is a primary industry, we expect to find a good pool of qualified candidates," he said.

Prospective flight attendants must be at least 21 years of age, have two years of customer service experience, have a valid passport with permission to travel both domestically and internationally, and be eligible to work within the U.S. without sponsorship. They must also have proof of COVID-19 vaccination and no flying restrictions.

Successful candidates will earn $26 an hour for 70 hours of work per month with a full benefits package provided by Global Crossings at no expense to the employee. They must complete a four-week training program to be held Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last week of training will be held in Miami. Global Crossings will cover the costs of travel and lodging.

“We’re excited to work with Global Crossings and to provide good paying job opportunities for our residents,” said Levinson.

In addition to an agreement with the South Jersey Transportation Authority, the owner and operator of Atlantic City International, for the use of the airport, Global Crossings is also exploring the potential development of a new airport hangar and maintenance facility that could create even more jobs.

“Atlantic County, the Economic Alliance and our Workforce Development Board will continue to offer our assistance and work to attract new businesses and create jobs as part of our strategic efforts to diversify the regional economy,” Levinson said.
