South Jersey Gas Helps Collings Lakes Fire Department With $3,000

South Jersey Gas presented the Collings Lakes Fire Department with a $3,000 grant as part of the company's First Responders Grant Program

South Jersey Gas, a subsidiary of SJI (NYSE: SJI), recently presented the Collings Lakes Fire Department with a $3,000 grant as part of the company’s First Responders Grant Program. Collings Lakes Fire Department is one of eight recipients selected to receive the latest round of grants from South Jersey Gas. The grant funds will be used to support the purchase of new rescue equipment for the department.

“Through our First Responders Grant Program, South Jersey Gas supports local first responders and recognizes work they do to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all they serve,” said Dave Robbins, president of South Jersey Gas. “These grants give each department the ability to purchase lifesaving equipment, technology and valuable training. We congratulate the Collings Lake Fire Department and are proud to partner with them.”

All rescue equipment has differing lifespans and replacement is required when the aging equipment hinders a firefighter’s ability to safely and efficiently respond in rescue-related emergencies.

“Since 1964, our department has proudly served and protected residents throughout Collings Lakes,” said Pat Donnelly, president of Collings Lakes Fire Department. “Keeping our rescue equipment up-to-date is important not only for our firefighters in the field, but also the residents we serve. We sincerely thank South Jersey Gas for their generosity and are honored to receive this grant.”

The First Responders Grant Program will be offered again in Fall 2018. All First Responders Grant Program recipients represent local police, fire or emergency medical services departments that are comprised of paid or volunteer staff members serving residents in municipalities located within the utility’s service area. Program information, eligibility guidelines and applications are available on the South Jersey Gas website at: www.southjerseygas.com/community.
