Stockton Goes Online For Rest Of Semester Amid Coronavirus

With some exceptions, the university is asking students on campus to move back home.

GALLOWAY, NJ — Stockton University will move all classes online for the rest of the spring semester. The decision, announced Thursday, the novel coronavirus spreads in New Jersey.

Residential students will be asked to move back home for the rest of the semester, with some exceptions. Students will get an email Monday outlining a move-out schedule that will maintain social-distancing protocols.

Students are asked not to return to campus without a scheduled appointment.

Stockton decided last week to extend spring break and move some classes online. Spring break began Sunday and was extended through Tuesday. The university previously planned to hold online classes from March 25 through April 5.

Atlantic County has confirmed three cases of the virus. Governor Phil Murphy announced 318 new cases of the coronavirus Thursday, raising the state total to 742.
