Stockton University Acting President, Wife Commit $25,000 for New Endowment at Alma Mater
Stockton University Acting President Harvey Kesselman and wife, Lynne, have committed $25,000 to establish a new endowment at the school.

Stockton University Acting President Harvey Kesselman and his wife, Lynne, both Stockton alumni, have committed $25,000 to establish a new endowment to benefit undergraduate and graduate students.
“It means so much to both of us to be able to help students further their distinctive Stockton University educations,” Harvey, ‘79, said in a story in Shore News Today. “Education has meant everything to us both personally and professionally, and we want to help others achieve success in life.”
During Harvey Kesselman’s 35-year tenure at the university, he has served in many leadership roles including as provost and executive vice president, dean of the School of Education, interim vice president for Administration and Finance, CEO of the Southern Regional Institute and Educational Technology Training Center, and vice president for Student Affairs, according to Shore News Today. Lynne Kesselman, ’82/M.A.’05 is serving as first lady at Stockton and plans to retire from her teaching position at Egg Harbor Township High School in December. Her career highlights include being named an American Star of Teaching, a national award from the U.S. Department of Education. She also teaches web design, programming, financial literacy, workplace readiness and marketing.

“Attending Stockton was one of the happiest and most exciting times of my life,” Lynne indicated. “Education truly is the key to a better society, and we must always encourage others to learn and grow.”
Proceeds totaling $5,340 raised at an event earlier this year honoring Kesselman will be used to award the scholarship to deserving students over the next five years, beginning in the 2016-2017 academic year, annual awards of at least $1,000 will be given to Stockton students, noted Philip Ellmore, chief development officer and executive director of the Stockton Foundation.. Once fully funded, the earnings of this permanently endowed scholarship will be used to provide ongoing scholarship awards, Shore News Today said.
