Stockton University Hosts 12th Annual MLK Day of Service Monday
Project locations include sites in Atlantic, Cape May and Ocean counties.

At least 1,000 Stockton University students, faculty and staff and community members are expected to participate in the University’s 12th annual Martin Luther King Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 18, the University said Wednesday morning.
Project locations include Atlantic, Cape May and Ocean counties.
Activities in Galloway and elsewhere in Atlantic County begin with registration, breakfast and project selection at 8 a.m. in the Campus Center. Several projects are designed to last one hour and participants can rotate through some or all of them. Projects will include:

· Assembling 3D printed parts for prosthetic hands, many for children, through the eNable program in Meeting Room 5;
· The Books without Borders’ Book Drive, an ongoing project spearheaded by Dr. Melaku Lakew, professor of Economics. With its 2014 shipment, Stockton sent 18,500 books in a 53-foot trailer to the Kogi State Polytechnic Institute in Nigeria. The books filled the school’s library and enabled it to become accredited and issue degrees;

· South Jersey Horse Rescue, which will include barn/stable chores and feeding and cleaning animals at 5745 Pleasant Mill Road in Weekstown, N.J.;
· the Women’s Center of Atlantic County, social activism and fund-raising project, travel to 1201 New Road, Linwood, N.J.;
· New Day Family Success Center Kids Workshop, travel to 622-624 New York Ave., Galloway, N.J.;
· Circle K civic group will make children’s dolls, greeting cards, door hangers and prepare peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for distribution, with participation from local middle and high school students;
· South Jersey Humanists Letters for Amnesty International;
· Petey Greene Informational Sessions on tutoring prison inmates to help them get their GEDs.
In Atlantic City:
· Public Art installations from the Noyes Arts Garage;
· Producing arts, crafts and baked goods in collaboration with the Atlantic City Housing Authority;
In Hammonton:
Registration, breakfast and project selection begins at 8 a.m. All activities begin from at Kramer Hall, 30 Front Street, Hammonton, N.J.
· Creating a Resources Directory for the Migrant Workers Organization;
· Creating Valentine’s Day cards for Hammonton Cares at Kramer Hall.
In Manahawkin:
Registration, breakfast and project selection begins at 8 a.m. All activities are located at 712 E. Bay Ave, Manahawkin, N.J., unless otherwise noted.
· Nature Trail Clean-up for Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts will start at the Manahawkin site and then travel to 120 Long Beach Blvd. in Loveladies;
· Coastal Volunteers in Medicine will leave for 248 S. Main St. in Barnegat in a program aimed at nurses and other health care providers;
· Technology workshop with one-on-one technology assistance;
· Making cards for hospitalized children;
· Compiling activity books for children;
· Writing letters to veterans;
· Necessity bag making, for use in emergencies;
· Food drive;
· Data entry for Lighthouse Film Festival.
In Tuckerton, but begins at Galloway main campus:
· Clean-up and museum display at the Tuckerton Seaport and Baymen’s Museum, 120 W. Main St. in Tuckerton, N.J.
In Woodbine:
Registration, breakfast begins at 9:30 a.m. in The Sam Azeez Museum of Woodbine Heritage, 610 Washington Ave, Woodbine, N.J.
· Community projects, such as making Valentine cards for those in senior citizen facilities, will take place in Anne Azeez Hall, Classroom 101.
Volunteers may choose which activity and location are most convenient for them after checking in at the corresponding Stockton location. They will need to provide their own transportation to sites.
