Toy Market To Celebrate National Toy Day In Historic Smithville, Downtown Hammonton

The Smithville store will offer a free toy to every child, music, refreshments, in-store demonstrations and 20% off any one item.

Toy Market in Downtown Hammonton and Historic Smithville will will join over 600 stores across the country to celebrate Neighborhood Toy Store Day on Saturday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

As part of the festivities, Toy Market in Downtown Hammonton will offer: game and toy demonstrations by “play experts,” music, refreshments, door prizes and giveaways all day, 20% off any one item and a free toy for every customer.

The fun day will be capped off with Smithville’s Fire on the Lake, a simple bonfire of sorts floating on Lake Meone. Enjoy the fall foliage combined with a quaint village and the reflection of the fire and lake as the backdrop.

Toy Market was founded by Kelly Donio and has quickly become a destination for specialty toys in the region.
Neighborhood Toy Store Day is coordinated by the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting local toy shopping and creative open-ended playtime for children.

“Specialty toy store owners are the real experts when it comes to choosing toys for kids,” ASTRA President Kimberly Mosley said. “These store owners spend time with kids day in and day out. They understand the value of play, and what types of toys will truly engage children.”

The event has become an annual tradition at the Downtown Hammonton based Toy Market, and has become so successful that many other shops, restaurants and arts venues have partnered to piggy-back on it.

“We are excited to kick off the holiday season with Neighborhood Toy Store Day and Open House Weekend in Hammonton. It’s a fun day out to experience everything Downtown Hammonton has to offer,” Donio said.

Neighborhood Toy Store Day is part of Open House Weekend in Downtown Hammonton that will feature a free "Make a Dreamcatcher" for all of your holiday wishes at Behind the Moon children's shop.

GorJess & LoveLee clothing boutique is celebrating its fifth anniversary with 20% off the entire store, champagne, sweet treats and free gifts.

Shoppers can visit Santa at Chatter's Baskets from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Noyes Museum Shop is offering 15 percent off items in the entire store.

Casciano Coffee Bar and Sweetery is offering a free “Color a Coffee Cup.”

Shoppers will get a 10% discount on all purchases over $50 at Country Clutter gift shop, which features a large selection of American made gifts and home accents.

Toy Market, recently voted South Jersey Magazine’s Best Toy Shop, is located at 204 Bellevue Avenue in Downtown Hammonton, and now in Historic Smithville.
