Ventnor City Woman Indicted; Murder Of Mom, Grandmom: Prosecutor

A grand jury indicted recently Heather Barbera, 41, of the murder of her mother and grandmother.

MAYS LANDING, NJ - A Ventnor City woman was indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury for the murder of her mother and grandmother indicted recently, according the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Heather Barbera, 41, was indicted on October 17 for, two counts of first degree murder, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and robbery, according to the Atlantic City Prosecutor's Office.

Elaine Rosen, 87, and her daughter Michelle Gordon, 67, were both found dead in a house on July 7, according to the Atlantic City Prosecutor's Office. Both victims suffered from blunt injuries resulting in their death.

Barbera was picked up by police in New York on July 11 after an investigation revealed she had taken a bus up to New York City after the murders, according to the Atlantic City Prosecutor's Office. She was extradited back to Atlantic County August 2.

Barbera is currently at the Atlantic County jail and is scheduled for an arraignment on Friday.
