5K Race For Suicide Awareness To Be Held In Hillsborough

Linda Walton mother of Jason Walton, a Hillsborough Highschool Track & Field Athlete who died by suicide, started the annual race.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hundreds of runners will once again descend upon Hillsborough to celebrate the legacy of Jason Walton, a Hillsborough Highschool Track & Field Athlete who died by suicide.

Jason's Memorial 5K was started by Jason's mother, Linda Walton to continue her son's legacy and to raise awareness for BoroSafe and suicide prevention. Jason took his life in 2008.

"This event is more than just a labor of love," said Walton on the race website. "It's an opportunity to make an impact in the community."
