Firefighters Rescue Trapped Driver In Overturned Crash In Montgomery
A Belle Mead driver was issued summonses while a Hillsborough driver was hospitalized with injuries.
MONTGOMERY, NJ ? A driver trapped in an overturned vehicle was rescued by firefighters on Tuesday morning in Montgomery.
On Jan. 9 at 9:02 a.m., Montgomery Police, Montgomery 45 Fire and Montgomery 47 EMS went to County Route 533 (River Road) and Staats Farm Road for a motor vehicle crash with an overturn.
Danny C. Lui, 65, of Belle Mead, was driving a 2013 Toyota on Staats Farm Road, when he pulled out in front of a 22-year-old woman from Hillsborough, who was driving southbound on Route 533 in a 2012 Volkswagen, said Montgomery Police.

As a result of the crash, the Volkswagen turned onto its side, coming to rest against the berm along the southbound shoulder.
Firefighters were able to extricate the woman from her car.

The Hillsborough woman had a complaint of head and neck pain and was taken by ambulance to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-New Brunswick for treatment. Lui and his passenger were not injured.
The roadway was closed for around one hour for scene investigation and cleanup. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Lui was issued a summons for failure to stop, or yield. He is due to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
