APEX Sports & Events Complex Plans September Opening
The year-round sports facility, located next to Mountain View Park, will serve parts of Somerset, Mercer, Hunterdon, and Middlesex counties.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Construction is underway at APEX Sports & Events Complex in Hillsborough who has announced its tentative opening plans.
The year-round sports facility will be located next to Mountain View Park and is anticipated to open its outdoor artificial turf fields in September. A grand opening of the entire facility, including the indoor sports complex is slated for December, according to Apex Business Development & Events Director Fred Ewig.

The facility will not only serve Hillsborough but other parts of Somerset, Mercer, Hunterdon, and Middlesex counties as well.
Apex has been working with municipalities as well as local clubs and groups to use the full-sized synthetic turf fields for practicing or games, Ewig said.

The indoor fields allow for regulation play in all long-field sports such as soccer, lacrosse, and football. There will also be a hardwood court area for sports such as basketball, volleyball, and futsal.
There will also be a family entertainment component with various sports performance amenities including a batting cages/pitching tunnels; a rock climbing area and a play climb area; mezzanine viewing area; a cafe and concessions area; multi-purpose rooms; team rooms; and other supporting spaces.
It will also be open for events such as birthday parties.
