Beloved Former Branchburg Mayor's Wife Dies At Age 70

Jane Evelyn Tenore (nee Burnham), 70, was a long-time Branchburg resident where she raised her children for 30 years.

BRANCHBURG, NJ — Former Branchburg mayor's wife Jane Evelyn Tenore (nee Burnham), 70, died peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018.

Jane was born on June 10, 1948 to Frank W. Burnham and Emily Burnham (Desterberg) and was raised in East Orange. In 1972, she married Michael F. Tenore before moving to Branchburg where they lived and raised their children for 30 years. She enjoyed her many years as a member of the Branchburg Republican Club and co-chairing the Branchburg PTO Consignment Sale.

In 2005, Jane retired from working over 30 years at District Council Ironworkers Pension Fund Local 11 to live in St. Augustine, Florida with her husband and dog Budweiser “Buddy”. She enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren and grand dog Rudy, reading with a good bottle of wine, attending the Moses Creek Neighborhood Dinner Club, and playing bunco and mahjong with friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Frank W. Burnham and Emily Burnham (Desterberg), and her father and mother-in-law, Fred M. Tenore and Phyllis M.Tenore (Alfano).

Surviving are her beloved husband of 46 years, Michael F. Tenore; her loving daughters, Michele Tenore, of Bridgewater; and Lisa Tenore of Hillsborough; her dear son, Fredrick M. Tenore and his wife Rebecca Ann Tenore(Matushewsky), of Readington; and two cherished granddaughters, Angelina and Abigail Tenore.

Viewing will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 5 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. prayer service at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg.

Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
