Cyber Attack Closes Hillsborough Schools Monday
Due to the nature of the cyberattack, all schools were closed April 16 and the Board of Education meeting was canceled.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — All Hillsborough schools were closed April 16 due to a cyber attack on the district's system. The schools also went to all-virtual Tuesday as result.
"Several hours ago, our technology department was alerted to a possible cyber attack. Law enforcement, including the FBI recommended shutting our systems down so that we may be able to ascertain the depth of the attack," said Hillsborough Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lisa M. Antunes in an email to parents on Sunday night.
Due to the nature of the cyber attack and potential instability of the network, the district was unable to pivot virtual learning.
