Dorothy F. Blodgett, 87, Of Hillsborough Died Saturday

Blodgett was a homemaker who enjoyed shopping, cooking and taking care of her family, including the animals that she loved.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Dorothy F. Blodgett, 87, of Hillsborough died on Saturday, Dec. 30 at home.

She was born and raised in Manhattan, New York, moving to Elizabeth in 1965 and Carteret in 1984 and finally settling in Hillsborough in 1997.

Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed shopping, cooking and taking care of her family, including the animals that she loved, according to her obituary.

She was predeceased by her husbands, James Murphy and John Blodgett, her siblings, Joseph, Eddie, Jimmy, John, Catherine, Florence and Elizabeth and her grandchildren Colleen Marie and Nicholas John.

Surviving are her children, James Murphy (Joan) of Hillsborough, John Blodgett (Joseph) of Bayville and Colleen Boris (Nick) of Hillsborough, her twin brother George Coyle of Bronx, New York, her grandchildren, Erin, Christine and Kelly and her great granddaughter Charlotte.

Funeral services will begin on Friday at 8:45 a.m. in the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 US Hwy 206, Hillsborough followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, 34 Yorktown Rd., Hillsborough. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, East Millstone.

Visiting for family and friends will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s name may be made to Hospice of Princeton www.princetonhcs.org.
