FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ — Filming begins in Franklin Township over the next three days for Stephen King's new miniseries "Lisey's Story."
Filming will be done at the historic Van Liew-Suydam house in Franklin Township at the intersection of South Middlebush Road and Blackwells Mills Road, Franklin Township Administrator Robert Vornlocker Jr. said.
"The town is certainly excited about having this done here," Vornlocker Jr. said. "It's a nice opportunity to get on the map, so to speak."

The miniseries is an adaptation of King's 2006 novel, which is said to be his favorite book, into an eight-episode series on Apple TV, starring Julianne Moore as the main character, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The story follows Moore who plays the widow of a novelist. She is cleaning out his possessions when she decides to go to his place — "a place that both terrified and healed him, could eat him alive or give him the ideas he needed in order to live," according to the book's description.

No release date for the miniseries has been announced yet.
The set is closed for filming and will not be open to the public, Vornlocker Jr. noted.
Since the house is a top a hill set back off the road there are no road closures expected due to filming.
The home, which was built in the 1700s, had a large addition built in 1875 and was sold to Franklin Township in 1888 by the State of New Jersey for $100. The house and property have been leased to the Meadows Foundation, which has restored the house exterior, interior, and barn.
