Stephen King Films New Miniseries In Franklin
Fans are being turned away from the set as filming continues in Franklin Township for Stephen King's new miniseries "Lisey's Story."

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ — Fans are being turned away from the set as filming continued in Franklin Township through Friday, Oct. 25 for Stephen King's new miniseries "Lisey's Story" starring Oscar winner Julianne Moore.
Filming was done on Wednesday and Thursday and continued Friday last week at the historic Van Liew-Suydam house in Franklin Township at the intersection of South Middlebush Road and Blackwells Mills Road, Franklin Township Administrator Robert Vornlocker Jr. said.
Several fans drove by the house noting the number of trucks and equipment set up on site. Some even tried to approach the set but were turned away.

"The town is certainly excited about having this done here," Vornlocker Jr. said. "It's a nice opportunity to get on the map, so to speak."

The miniseries is an adaptation of King's 2006 novel, which is said to be his favorite book, into an eight-episode series on Apple TV, according to Entertainment Weekly.
King will write all eight episodes of the series, according to slashfilm.com.
The series is called a "deeply personal thriller that follows Lisey two years following the death of her husband." It explores "a series of events that causes her to begin facing amazing realities about her husband that she had repressed and forgotten," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story follows Moore, who plays the widow of a novelist. She is cleaning out his possessions when she decides to go to his place — "a place that both terrified and healed him, could eat him alive or give him the ideas he needed in order to live," according to the Amazon book's description.
No release date for the miniseries has been announced yet. The miniseries follows recent movie releases of "IT" and "Pet Sematary" — both were based on King's novels.
Filming at the historic Van Liew-Suydam house in Franklin Township will not cause any road closures as the home is a top a hill set back off the road.
The home, which was built in the 1700s, had a large addition built in 1875 and was sold to Franklin Township in 1888 by the State of New Jersey for $100. The house and property have been leased to the Meadows Foundation, which has restored the house exterior, interior, and barn.
